It was reared in 51% new French oak, 46% in used barrels and 3% in terracotta. (The terracotta is only use for whites.) Medium to deep garnet-purple colored - WOW - perfumed black and blue fruits prance out of the glass, revealing accents of candied violets and cinnamon stick, supporting the plum preserves, blackberry compote and garrigue-scented core, plus hints of molten dark chocolate, licorice, Chinese five spice and bacon with a touch of iron ore. The 1994 appears to be the finest Mouton-Rothschild made following the 1986 and before the 1995's conception. The wine exhibits a dense, saturated purple color, followed by a classic Mouton nose of sweet black fruits intermingled with smoke, pain grillee, spice, and cedar. This feels quite candied on the nose, a little savory in style with fresh mint developing with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with a supple entry, lightly spiced with veins of dark chocolate towards the finish. The rest of the fruit came from the Alban, Alta Mesa and Bien Nacido sites. Aged primarily in 300-liter hogsheads, this wine performed brilliantly in the tastings, starting a succession of prodigious Grenaches to emerge from Sine Qua Non. Fabulous fruit intensity, with loads of black cherry, black currant, licorice, incense, and some smoke are followed by a wine with good acidity, velvety yet moderate tannins, and a wonderfully layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel. This wine is drinking great already, but is still a young wine, from an evolutionary standpoint a mere adolescent, and has at least another decade of sumptuous consumption ahead of it.(The Wine Advocate, Aug 31, 2011) ¥·¥ó ¥¯¥¢ ¥Î¥ó ¥ê¥ë E ¥°¥ë¥Ê¥Ã¥·¥å 2003 ¥Þ¥°¥Ê¥à 1500ml ¥¥ã¥Ã¥×¥·¡¼¥ëÉÔÎÉ ¥·¥Í ¥¯¥¢ ¥Î¥ó ¥·¥ó¥¯¥¢¥Î¥ó ¥·¥Í¥¯¥¢¥Î¥ó Sine Qua Non Li'l E Grenache ¥¢¥á¥ê¥« ¥«¥ê¥Õ¥©¥ë¥Ë¥¢ À֥磻¥ó[¤Î¤³¤ê1ËÜ] 258,000 円

There are 500 cases of the 2021 Pinot Noir CIX Estate, made in a surprisingly delicate and leaner style. Raspberry fruit predominates, accented by attractive sous-bois complexity in this bright, spicy effort. This wine is a blend sourced from three of David Abreu¡Çs vineyards - Madrona, Thorevilos and Lucia. Notes of Christmas fruitcake, underbrush, blackcurrants, black cherries, licorice and spice box emerge from this complex 2012. It fermented with indigenous yeasts for four to five weeks, with manual punch down of the cap, 67% in 7,500-liter French oak vats and 33% in new French oak barrels, followed by malolactic in new French oak barrels. The élevage was 24 months in 90% new barrels and 10% second-use. The wine is powerful, big and ripe, with 15% alcohol and a pH of 3.57. It's creamy and juicy, with very high ripeness and a notable absence of herbal notes; it's oaky, smoky and decadent, coming through as luxurious, round, lush and velvety. It's full-bodied and has abundant, small and powdery tannins. 103,944 bottles produced. Sure, there is plenty of vintage 2010 pedigree, along with the typical Abreu textural richness, but it is the wine's overall balance that leaves the most lasting impression. Rothwell Hyde is made from a selection of the wines that don't go into the four main labels and is sold mostly through the mailing list and in a few select restaurants.
