Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Sluts are people who enjoy sex and love freely. They believe that sex and sexual love are fundamental forces for good, and that every consensual intimate relationship has these potentials. #2 There are many ways to be an ethical slut, and that’s OK. As long as you and the people you care about are consenting, you’re doing ethical sluthood right. #3 Sluts are not necessarily sexual athletes, but we do value sex for the pleasure it brings us and the good times we get to share with whoever we want. We love adventure and are not afraid of trying new things. #4 The language in this book is sex-positive, and we aim to reclaim the original English words to describe sex and sexuality. We want to wash them clean of their offensive past meanings and use them as positive descriptors.
画面が切り替わりますので、しばらくお待ち下さい。 ※ご購入は、楽天kobo商品ページからお願いします。※切り替わらない場合は、こちら をクリックして下さい。 ※このページからは注文できません。 Summary of Janet W.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 In 2006, two of the Windy City’s most notorious wiseguys, Joseph Joey the Clown Lombardo and Frank Frankie the German Schweihs, were arrested by federal authorities. They were both highly respected members of one of the most powerful and dangerous crime syndicates in the world. #2 The Family Secrets investigation was a major accomplishment for the FBI, as was the arrest of the Spilotro brothers. However, things were looking up for the Midwest crime family in 2004, when Jimmy Marcello, the syndicate’s new street boss, emerged from a ten-year federal prison sentence. #3 On April 6, 2005, Patrick Fitzgerald announced the indictment of the fourteen men, including Joey Lombardo and Frank Schweihs. Lombardo was placed on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted List. However, despite the written correspondence between him and Zagel, letters sent through his attorney and conspicuously postmarked from within Chicago, the trail went cold. #4 After ten months of tracking down and arresting Joey Lombardo, the FBI finally caught up with its target in mid-January 2006. Sample Book Insights: #1 Faith is the ability to believe in the authority of a divine plan, even when society and history are against you. We as a nation believed in inherent inequality, but we knew that it was not real, and we knew people would even kill to maintain that belief. #2 We, as African Americans, had experienced the equality of all humankind first-hand, and we knew that it was not a dream. We believed that if we stood together based on faith, the forces of the universe would come to our aid. #3 The problems we face in the trials of our lives, whether we are protesting against injustice or battling cancer, can help us grow beyond our personal limits. As we command our spirit to find a way to overcome these obstacles, we are forced to break past any false trappings of the identity. #4 The same power you activate in the midst of adversity can be used to bring about the kind of change or transformation you wish to see in your own life.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 Alchemy is the process of transmuting a common substance into a substance of great value. It is a form of spiritual alchemy, which involves the transformation of the self from a singular inward-turning consciousness to one that is awakened, dynamic, and open to the subtle energies around us. #2 Matter is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. The world we see is made up of chunks of information contained in energy vibrating at different frequencies. Our own vibrational signature is immensely diverse, and we constantly come in and out of solidity. #3 The natural world offers us a treasure trove of vibrational tools that we can use to positively influence our own natural signature, or vibrational pattern. When these energetic signatures resonate with our vibrational patterns, we can use them to precisely fine-tune our own energetic bodies. #4 The idea of a collective reality is that the energetic patterns arising from Source (or God, or the universe, or whatever font of creation you choose to believe in) imbue each of us with certain preset ways of perceiving and understanding reality. I felt like I was living in a medieval city, or at least what I imagined a medieval city would look like based on Monty Python sketches. #3 In third-world countries, the toilet is a big preoccupation. In America, the toilet is a place to enter and exit without being traumatized, and there are extractor fans to erase odors. #4 The rapid changes in Korea were evident in my middle school. Sample Book Insights: #1 The author’s friend was right about the hardest thing they’ve ever done being the building of a local church. The author experienced intense insider struggles with bitterness and frustration, which led to thoughts of giving up. #2 When you’re in a hard stretch, it can be difficult to keep your thoughts in order. You may find yourself constantly looking over your shoulder, wondering if someone is out to get you. You may struggle with your emotions, and you may snap in anger. But you must remember that these are not your enemies, but the enemy, who has taken a seat at your table. #3 I began to see myself sitting at a table with the Good Shepherd across from me. I didn’t need to be afraid, even though the fiery trials weren’t all resolved. My place at the table didn’t mean that my enemies would be removed from the equation. #4 The message of Psalm 23 is a message of victory. Sample Book Insights: #1 The first Allied airborne operation was codenamed Operation Colossus, and it took place in September 1943. It involved the British Special Air Service dropping into the heart of Mussolini’s Fascist Italy to blow up the country’s life-giving watercourse, the Aqueduct Pugliese. #2 The mission was successful, and the aqueduct was destroyed. However, the mission commander, Pritchard, brought the team of sappers up to speed on two matters: the Whitley carrying the main team of sappers was missing, along with the majority of their explosives; and as the raiders gathered together all their explosives, the total amounted to just seven hundred pounds. #3 The British raiders were captured and taken to a small village. They were handed over to the Italian military police, and transported to Naples. They were interrogated by the Questura, Fascist Italy’s secret police. But despite their many attempts to extract information, Paterson maintained a rigid silence. #4 The Colossus prisoners were transferred to a camp in the mountains, at Sulmona. We were afraid of being shot by the soldiers who crouched in the hedgerows as we walked home, and we were afraid of being bombed by the IRA. #2 The nineties in Ireland were a time of change and struggle. People were trying to prise off the fingers of Church control, and they were struggling with their self-identification as one of the few true Catholic countries left. #3 There were a few brutal murders in Ireland during my childhood that could be linked to the later disappearances. In 1979, Phyllis Murphy, who was twenty-three, went missing from Newbridge, about thirty miles from Dublin. She was last seen walking to the bus stop wearing jeans and a winter coat, mittens. Her body was found two months later in a forest in Wicklow. #4 There were several unsolved cases in Ireland in the 1980s and 1990s, including the murders of Antoinette Smith and Jastine Valdez.
The Gospel is Good News. This book covers Colossians to Hebrews. The Epistles are letters written for the express purpose of telling that Good News. All About Jesus is more than a devotional or bible study. Yes it is a devotional and a bible study but it also emphasizes Jesus. His name is Jesus : Jehovah Saves. His name implies what He came to do and what He has done for all that have faith in Him. It's' All About Jesus, He actually saves us. Too many ¨ believers¨ ,believe that He is Our Savior but continually try to save themselves. Our biggest problem is not really knowing and believing how Jesus does it. Gods' ways are higher than our ways and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. Because this book emphasizes Jesus, you will see what His has done for us and give Him the honor and praise for it. This is what the Christian Faith is all about. Declaring what He has done for us and then seeing it come to pass in our lives. To God be the glory! I had wanted to go, and I had opened myself up to the experience. I was far more open than I was at the stressful time of my father’s dying, better able to receive his final message. #4 I began asking questions the very next morning, when I knew for sure that I had experienced a profound and deeply personal healing beyond anything I’d experienced with other psychedelics.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The modern American evangelicalism that so many people are abandoning was a brilliant social construction that over decades yielded something like a real religious community. The fallout of the invention of this evangelical identity has been profound. #2 The term evangelical was not created out of whole cloth in 1942 when the National Association of Evangelicals was created. It was originally used to describe Protestants in Europe, Puritans and Methodists in England, and revivalists and Pietists in everywhere. #3 The term evangelical is derived from the New Testament term evangelion, which means gospel or good news. It has always been used to contrast other versions of Christianity, which were believed to be less than ideal. #4 The modern evangelical movement was born out of the separation of these two main Protestant groups, mainline and fundamentalists.
From the late 19th century until the 1970s, the advanced societies of the West were becoming less unequal. But since then, they have all become more unequal. #3 The consequences of economic inequality are clear. There has been a collapse in intergenerational mobility, with the poor staying poor and economic disadvantage translating into ill health, missed educational opportunity, and alcoholism, obesity, gambling, and minor criminality. #4 Income disparity exacerbates the problems.
Please note: This is a companion version & not the original book. Sample Book Insights: #1 The first and most common mistake with the Old Testament law is to ignore where it appears. Israel arrives at Sinai in chapter 19 of Exodus, but their elaborate deliverance from Egypt takes place in chapters 3?14. If the law were a prerequisite for salvation, then we would expect to see Moses in Egypt making a public service announcement: Hey, everyone, good news! God plans to set you free from slavery to Pharaoh. #2 The climax of a chiasm is not always found in the middle, but the turning point of the narrative is. The flood narrative in Genesis 6?9 is an example of mirror imaging on a smaller scale. The symmetrical ebb and flow of the story matches the rise and fall of the water. #3 The Israelites journeyed to Sinai several times, and the descriptions of the journey are similar each time. God provided them with manna and quail, and they requested water from the rock. After Sinai, the Israelites fought the Amalekites. #4 The first part of the journey for the Hebrews was to leave Egypt and find a new home.
